An accomplished academic with extensive research and international experience spanning IIT Kanpur and Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Current Ph.D. Research Scholars

1. Aanand Kautu
Aanand Kautu completed his Bachelor’s degree from Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya (DHSGSU), Sagar, in 2019, followed by a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the same institution in 2021. During the final semester of his Master’s program, he carried out a six-month dissertation in peptide chemistry under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. B. Joshi’s research group. He subsequently joined the group as a doctoral scholar in the 2021–2022 session, working on the project titled “Engineering Bioinspired Short Peptide Conjugates and Their Nanotechnological Applications.” His research focuses on the design and synthesis of short peptide conjugates for metal chelation, heavy-metal detoxification, and related nanotechnological applications. His academic excellence and research potential were recognized through the award of the prestigious CSIR-SRF (Direct) fellowship in August 2025. He is currently engaged in compiling his research findings and writing his doctoral thesis.

2. Miss Shruti Sharma
She completed her B.Sc. degree in 2019 and M.Sc. in Chemistry in 2021 from Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya (A Central University), Sagar (M.P.). During her Master’s program, she carried out her dissertation work under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. B. Joshi. She joined the KBJ Research Group as a Project Associate-I under a DST-SERB funded project from 08.02.2022 to 09.12.2024. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. as a Research Scholar since 28 June 2024, working on the doctoral thesis titled “Design and Synthesis of Multifunctional Peptide Conjugates for Biochemical Applications.” Her research focuses on the design and synthesis of short multifunctional peptide conjugates for the development of antibacterial and antibiofilm agents, along with nanoformulations of conventional drugs to combat MDR/AMR-related challenges. These strategic drug–peptide chimeric nanoformulations represent a promising approach with significant therapeutic potential.

4. Govind Singh
He completed his B.Sc. in 2015 from Ojaswini Excellence Institute, Damoh, followed by an M.Sc. in 2017 from Government P.G. College, Damoh. He commenced his Ph.D. in January 2022 under the supervision of Dr. Sarita Rai. He is currently associated with the research group of Prof. (Dr.) K. B. Joshi, where his work is driven by a strong interest in nanotechnology and materials science. His research focuses on small biomolecules and their potential applications in bionanotechnology, particularly in the development of biomaterial-based systems. He qualified the MP-SET examination in 2023. He is presently engaged in compiling his research findings and writing his doctoral thesis.

3. Miss Ankita Sen
She completed her B.Sc. in June 2021 from Government Holkar Science College, followed by an M.Sc. in Chemistry in 2023 from Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar. During her Master’s dissertation, she worked under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. B. Joshi, where she gained foundational research experience that motivated her to pursue advanced studies in the field. She subsequently joined the KBJ Research Group as a Ph.D. Research Scholar in July 2024, working on the project titled “Aromatic Peptide Conjugates Forming Bioactive Nanostructures for Advanced Biomedical Applications.” Her research focuses on the design of aromatic peptide-based conjugates and their self-assembled bioactive nanostructures for next-generation biomedical applications.
